Dunedin's Beaches

Dunedin is a cozy town in Pinellas County located on the Gulf of Mexico. For a great day on the water, you have come to the right place. White sandy beaches line the Dunedin Causeway which is a great place to relax. They are not as crowded as many of the larger beaches nearby and provide residents and visitors with a serene place to listen to the waves come in. You can drive on the beach on the Dunedin Causeway and park your car on the sand. Bring your beach blanket and enjoy a day in the sun on this peaceful stretch of shoreline. There is a small concession stand, kayak and parasail rentals and a great sidewalk that many residents enjoy exercising on. You can get your daily workout with a great view!

Honeymoon Island

The beaches of Dunedin, Florida consist of blue waters and clear skies, making Dunedin a wonderful recreational area for the outdoorsman. Daily on the Dunedin Causeway you will find many fisherman and water lovers enjoying themselves as they cast their lines or jump waves on personal watercraft. Another mile down the causeway you will find the entrance to Honeymoon Island which consists of beautiful beaches with pavilions and wildlife. There is also a pet beach for you to enjoy with your canine friend. This private beach is full of gorgeous wildlife and natural beauty. The beaches are pristinely manicured and there is a small fee to enter the park that helps to keep this area looking so beautiful year round. It is definitely worth every penny. It is Dunedin's treasure taking visitors back to a time when the beaches were clean, and not overcrowded. There is ample parking, a refreshment house and bath houses for your use here. This beach is quiet and a perfect place to spend a Florida day or just watch a sunset.

Caladesi State Park

If you choose you can take the ferry across to Caladesi Island where you can go on a nature walk or just enjoy the sunshine on the shore. Caladesi Island and Dunedin Causeway can also be reached by your very own personal watercraft.  Many people take their boat to this island for a fun family day of sunbathing and relaxing. Pack a picnic and a blanket and pull your boat up to this well cared for island. It's a great way to spend a weekend while enjoying your watercraft and the sand.

Other Beaches near Dunedin

Even though many residents enjoy having their very own beaches, Clearwater beach is located only 15-20 minutes south and can easily be seen across the Gulf right from the Dunedin Causeway. There are many other larger beaches nearby such as St. Petersburg and Indian Rocks beaches. They have larger hotels, great seafood restaurants and plenty of activities. Jet ski's, fishing charters, live entertainment and a great night life are waiting for you here. When you live on the West Coast of Florida, there is no shortage of beaches!
